What if I Require a Special Diet on my Cruise?

The majority of cruise lines now offer salt-free, low-fat, low sodium,

low-carbohydrate, low cholesterol, gluten-free, diabetic, or other special request

meals and will even deliver these options to your room. In addition, kosher options

and baby food are generally made available , by request at no additional charge and

they will try to accomodate individuals with food allergies.

Contact your cruise line

after booking your trip, to let them know what you require, or better yet, express

your concerns during booking to make sure they can accommodate your request.

Depending on your cruise line, you will receive daily updates informing you of the

upcoming dinner menu choices.  Some cruise lines, like Royal Caribbean, offer

interactive digital kiosks around the ship with this information.  Other cruis lines, like

Carnival, will deliver a daily newsletter with this information to your stateroom, so

you can plan your meals ahead.  Once you arrive on your ship, drop by the dining

room and confirm your arrangements with the Maitre D' to ensure an enjoyable

cruise vacation menu.
