Will I Need a Tuxedo on my Cruise Vacation?

These days, cruise lines have a more relaxed dress code than in the past.  A flowing pants suit or silk dress for the ladies and a sport coat with a collared shirt and dress slacks for the men are fine, even for the formal dining nights.  On non-formal nights, dress shorts are acceptable on some ships and s
kirts, a silk cocktail dress or even a pair of pants complemented by a sweater or a blouse for the ladies .  On a more elegant cruise ship you may feel out of place in shorts, though.  Jeans or flip flops are never a good choice for the dining rooms.  The same goes for T-Shirts, swimsuits, robes, bare feet, tank tops, baseball caps or any type of pool wear in the dining room at any time.  These are all acceptable for the poolside grille, though.  By the way, a tuxedo or formal gown is always acceptable, and it might make the whole cruise vacation experience a bit more fun to "class it up".   ShipOuts.com tip...don't forget to pack your dressy shoes for the dining room.
